June, a confusing time. Just when you thought you could tell all the different birds apart, studied them in the books, the juveniles come along. And, as is the case with people as well, sometimes the children look nothing like their parents. It is not too difficult with these Great Tits that have just left their nest. Yellow cheeks, not yet a very clear line along the neck, something that vaguely resembles a neck-tie...still...a Great Tit.
