The Early Bird
About This Artwork
The young Eurasian blue tit has fledged. Old enough to leave the nest but not developed enough to forage on its own, the young bird barely holds on to the wire. Luckily for him the parents are never far away and continue to provide nourishment and protection. Even though all feathers are in place, wings and tail are still too short to fly effectively. Fluttering, hopping and flitting around is about all this bird can do at the moment.
