Symbol of Hope
About This Artwork
Just when you think winter is half-way over and the odds of getting snow are fairly low this happens:
A European robin alights on top of the iron decorative bird that is stuck in the ground in front of my studio. As early as the nineteenth century, when people first started sending Christmas cards to each other, the European robin was frequently featured. A splash of color in a white world, a symbol of hope, warmth.
