About This Artwork

Typically I need only two colors when painting the prairie this time of the year: a golden-yellow and ochre. Done. Maybe a little brown for the spent prairie flowers. All the bright colors have been removed. But then – WOW! – a blue flash streaks by and everything springs back to life! The fields seem more yellow, the sky a brighter blue. Colors definitely influence the perception of other colors.
