What have we here? Out of nowhere this unusual poppy appeared, right underneath one of the pear trees in the orchard. I honestly don't know how it got here, perhaps the wind carried some seeds or maybe it hitched a ride in the manure that was spread among the trees last year. The shape of the flower reminds me a little of the dresses of the French cancan dancers... Somehow it looks a little out of place in my Dutch garden! But since it's such an unusual visitor it will have be my favorite poppy for now!
