“Mother’s Day comes around every year about the time the dandelions bloom. The farmers are in the fields, the trees are leafing out and the songbirds are back. It’s a time of hope and optimism.” I was asked to paint a farm as it was in the early 60's everything had changed since then so i worked from photos and from kids who grew up then.I also reached back into my own childhood in a similar place to bring the kind of authenticity and eeling to the painting, that I try for in all my work.
