There are a lot of sharp eyes in a band of old rams like these. When one ram in the herd sees a potential threat, he will lock onto it and will not turn away unless he is sure that there is no danger. If the threat is real, all the other rams will soon follow his gaze and will disappear over the ridge and into the fog.
