Jocelyn Beatty

Colorful wildlife, rolling farmland and vivid flowers are common to Pennsylvania and the art of lifetime resident, Jocelyn Beatty. She focuses on her love of nature with luminous color, sharp details and strong compositions. Using a rich saturated palette, together with a strong primary light source, she produces beautiful high contrast paintings in watercolor and acrylic. Having painted since childhood, the artist studied art at Edinboro State University, and then worked as an architectural draftsman. This valuable experience is evident in the portraits of old homes and farms she is often commissioned to paint. Partly a self-taught artist, she also credits many friends and professionals for their influences and direction in her work over the years. In recent years, Beatty has shared her passion for painting through classes, workshops and demonstrations. Jocelyn is presently teaching at the Hoyt Art Institute, in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Jocelyn’s distinguished pieces have been exhibited in juried shows, invitational exhibits, and solo shows winning her numerous awards. Her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections nationwide. An active supporter of local and national fund raisers for wildlife conservation and charitable organizations, today Jocelyn can be found painting in her spacious country studio and gallery in Pennsylvania.
