Caly Garris earned a degree in fine arts from California State University. She lives on a ranch in Oregon where she continues to paint, gathering inspiration from her own animals and the wildlife living in the area surrounding her home.

Caly Garris is known for her often-described "kaleidoscopic" artwork, generally depicting either horses, wildlife, or domestic animals. Using watercolor in an unusually vivid way, she is characterized by her intense color palate of surrealistically hued and intensely vibrant colors. In addition to her eye-catching color themes, her painterly strokes sweep viewer's eye across canvas and back again.

Garris is a signature member of Women Artists of the West, as well as a member of the Oregon Watercolor Society. She has appeared in many distinguished shows such as the C.M. Russel Western Art Show and the Cattlemen's Western Art Show. Her work is valued in public and private collections around the world.
